Like the author's Victorian Grimoire, Folkways is an excellent compendium of folk wisdoms and advice on modern applications. Telesco has compiled a host of superstitions, folk beliefs and religious observances on a wide variety of topics, including amulets, animals, color, stones, numbers, knots, luck and magic, and kitchen and garden lore. As usual, Telesco combines a solid knowledge of her sources with creative suggestions for modern pagan use of these folkways. Excellent index; bibliography. Highly recommended as a reference book for anyone using the power of long-held beliefs and superstitions in their magick.
